Edith and Harry Darby Leadership Scholarship

The Edith and Harry Darby Foundation was established to honor Senator and Mrs. Darby. Senator Darby received his bachelor's degree in 1917 and master's degree in 1929 from the University, both in mechanical engineering. While at Illinois, he served as junior councilman and then president of the Illinois Union, an organization whose primary purpose was to raise funds for the construction of a student union building. He was also a member of Sachem and served on several campus-wide committees.

The recognition includes a scholarship and will be applied directly to the student's financial aid package for the upcoming year.
