The LeaderShape® Institute™ is a four-day program provided by LeaderShape in partnership with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The LeaderShape® Institute™ challenges participants to lead with integrity while working towards a vision grounded in their deepest values.

Cluster Facilitators, who are typically University of Illinois faculty, staff, alumni, or local community members, work with a group of 8-12 undergraduate students during the LeaderShape® Institute™. This group is called the Family Cluster. The Family Cluster is the formal support and reference group for the participants during the Institute, and the.  The Cluster Facilitator serves as a bridge between the Learning Community and learning application in the Family Cluster and as the group’s resource, catalyst, and coach.

 

Specific roles within the Family Cluster and Learning Community include:

  • Modeling leadership behavior and acting with integrity.
  • Clarifying, summarizing, and sharing ideas.
  • Guiding group discussions.
  • Facilitating selected segments of the curriculum.
  • Establishing a climate conducive to learning.
  • Challenging assumptions and encouraging reflection and feedback.
  • Maintaining an energy level that matches the pace of the LeaderShape® Institute™.

 

Cluster Facilitator Time Commitment

Cluster Facilitator Orientation: 1. 5 hours

The Institute Faculty Training: 8 hours

The Institute: 4 days

Cluster Facilitators will be required to stay on-site overnight for the duration of the program. Lodging and three daily meals as well as snacks will be provided. Free overnight parking on-site is provided along with room and board.
